- Respect the Environment: Please ensure that you carry out any garbage or materials you bring along. Let’s keep the trail pristine and leave no trace of our visit.
- Preserve the Trail: Treat the trail and its infrastructure with care. Avoid any acts of vandalism or damage that could mark the beauty and accessibility of this cherished pathway.
- The Metlakatla Dock is reserved for Metlakatla Members ONLY.
- Bear spray is not permitted on the ferry.
- Pets Policy: While we adore our furry friends no outside dogs are allowed on the trail or in the community. This ensures the safety and comfort of all hikers and maintains the trail’s integrity.
- Protect the Ecosystem: For the preservation of the delicate marine life, seafood, and plants along the trail, we kindly request that no harvesting takes place. Additionally, please refrain from removing any materials from the trail.
- Staying Safe Around Wildlife: Despite our best efforts, we can never eliminate the risk of human-wildlife conflict. We must all accept our responsibilities to ensure that humans and wildlife can coexist. Learn more about common species in B.C. and how to reduce conflicts and remain safe around each. - No fires or camping are permitted on the trail at this time.
- Respect the Community: As you journey towards the trailhead, please show respect to the Metlakatla community and its residents. Let’s honor their space and privacy as we make our way to this natural sanctuary.
